Joint Archive for Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler acquires, reviews, documents, archives, and distributes ocean current shipboard acoustic Doppler current profiler data sets.
NOAA's National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) and
National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), in collaboration with the
E.Firing Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) Laboratory at
the
University of Hawai'i, have established the
Joint
Archive for Shipboard ADCP (JASADCP).

The Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP primarily handles United States national cruises, although it also supports several completed multinational programs, such as the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Response Experiment (TOGA COARE), the Western Equatorial Pacific Ocean Circulation Study (WEPOCS), and the United States─People's Republic of China cruises.
The Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP also acts as a Data
Assembly Center
for the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) in
collaboration with the
Japan Oceanographic Data
Center (JODC). The growing Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP currently archives data sets
from over 1000 cruises.
