The Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP primarily handles United States national cruises, although it also supports several completed multinational programs, such as the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Response Experiment (TOGA COARE), the Western Equatorial Pacific Ocean Circulation Study (WEPOCS), and the United States─People's Republic of China cruises.

The Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP also acts as a Data Assembly Center for the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) in collaboration with the red globe Japan Oceanographic Data Center (JODC). The growing Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP currently archives data sets from over 1000 cruises.
