A variety of coastal and ocean-observing systems routinely monitor the coastal environment. This Internet Map Service provides a common, geospatially referenced view of real-time and recent coastal and ocean observations. The site includes views of marine and land surface weather observations; physical, chemical, and bio-optical oceanographic observations; and coastal water level and stream gage observations.

This map facilitates the data discovery, access, and display of coastal observations. Coastal observations are broken into four categories:

  • land weather data (winds, air temperature, barometric pressure and tendency)
  • marine weather data (winds, water temperature, wave heights, visibility)
  • physical oceanographic data (currents)
  • hydrological data (river heights, precipitation)

Observational data can be combined with imagery products and oceanographic model outputs. In addition, the latest radar mosaics, weather warnings, and hurricane projections are available for display.

Please Note: You must enable JavaScript and disable pop-up blocking for the map to function properly.
