National Marine Sanctuaries - Central California Marine Habitat

The Central California Marine Habitat viewer provides information on the various habitats found in the Monterey Bay, the Cordell Bank, and the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuaries.

This map displays data layers representing the complex habitat and bathymetry within the borders and surrounding waters of the following sanctuaries:

Bathymetry includes 100-m contours and artificially sunshaded relief models of various resolutions. These relief models provide a type of "snapshot" of how the seafloor would appear without the water covering it. Habitat data include nested levels of geologic classifications, as well as interpretations of sediments that cover the extent of this map.
